Exercise Of The Week: Stir The Pot Advanced Version

Hey guys, this is the first installment of Exercise of The Week. Every Friday I will share a unique exercise that you can start adding into your exercise library.

This week’s exercise of the week is an advanced version of the Stir The Pot exercise. Normally, this exercise is done with the forearms resting on the swiss ball but this advanced variation requires more shoulder stability and is considerably harder. This is a great advanced core training exercise.

Athletic Benefits

– Improve core stability which is essential to transferring power generated in the lower body to the upper body.

-Improve shoulder stability

Coaching Cues:

-Start in a push-up position with your hands on a swiss ball

-Brace your core and squeeze your glutes

-Initiate the movement by making small circles to the right.

-After you perform the desired number of reps, start making small circles in the opposite direction

-Make sure you brace your core and glutes throughout

Sets: 3

Reps: 10 in each direction
