How To Fix Your Deadlift

My buddy Devin asked me to evaluate his deadlift technique. Check out his deadlift below:

Here is my feedback:

1-Your hips are a bit high

2-You need to finish hard with your glutes at the top

In order to strengthen your glutes and lockout do these exercises:

  • Barbell Glute Bridges
  • Barbell Hip Thrusts
  • RDL’s
  • Good Mornings
  • Pull against bands and chains

Add these exercises into your warm-up to activate your glutes:

  • Birddogs
  • Glute bridges
  • Single leg glute bridges
  • Lateral band walks

Focus on these two things and you will see dramatic improvements in your deadlift.
